Safety and help

Homely puts buyers and sellers in touch. Payment and the contract stay between you and the other side, so a few habits are worth keeping.

Before you pay

  • See the home in person before you pay anything, and never send a deposit first.
  • Ask to see the documents that show the person may sell or rent it.
  • Homely never asks for payment in messages.
  • Be careful with anyone who hurries you or wants to move the conversation elsewhere right away.

In messages

Phone numbers and emails in messages are hidden automatically. Share your own only once you trust the other person.

If something is wrong

  • A listing: open it and choose Report this listing.
  • A conversation: open it, then the menu at the top, and choose Report. Our staff read the recent messages of a reported conversation.
  • Someone you do not want to hear from: choose Block in the same menu. They are not told, and you can lift it from your account page.
